happy and healthy kids running across a field holding handsChiropractic treatment is a gentle and natural option for treating children, from infants to teenagers. Whether it may be from the birthing process; the tumbles taken while progressing through their milestones; sitting playing videogames for too long; or carrying heavy backpacks; children have stress and strain on their bodies which take a toll on their overall health.

Chiropractors use a variety of techniques to treat children, including fingertip pressure, soft tissue therapy, and instrument adjusting. Pediatric adjustments are very gentle. There is no cracking, twisting or turning, just a gentle pressure that moves the vertebrae back into the proper alignment. Infants are adjusted while being held by a parent so that they feel safe and secure.

A check-up by a chiropractor can help to identify dysfunction before it becomes a larger problem. Ideally, check-ups should be performed immediately after birth, and then at the major milestones during the first year (holding up their head, sitting up, standing up and walking). After the first year, preventative care should be performed regularly at the discretion of your chiropractor.

Dr. Brad Wild and Dr. Sarah Wild are certified in the Webster Technique and have additional training in pediatric care through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.
